Kovalainen expected easier F1 return

Heikki Kovalainen says he expected an easier return to racing in Formula 1. The Finn replaced Kimi Raikkonen at Lotus for the final two races of the 2013 season. He was chosen over the Enstone-based outfit's reserve driver Davide Valsecchi for his experience. Lotus team principal Eric Boullier hoped the 32-year-old would score points and help the team challenge Ferrari for third in the constructors' standings. However, he failed to finish in the top 10 during his two-race stint and felt that he couldn't unlock the pace of the E21 during the 71-lap season finale in Brazil.
