The Brazilian driver was running in fourth place in his final race for Ferrari when he was handed a drive-through penalty for crossing the white line at the pit entry with all four wheels. He lost out on a potential podium finish due to the unscheduled trip through the pitlane, with team-mate Fernando Alonso saying after the race that he was ready to move aside and give the 32-year-old the third.
