After months of speculation, Mercedes have confirmed that Ross Brawn will leave the team at the end of this year. The 59-year-old team principal's position at the Brackley squad had been in doubt for some months after Mercedes opted to bring in former McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe. From the get-go it was clear that Lowe had arrived with the intention of taking over from Brawn as team boss. Mercedes, though, were still keen on the Englishman remaining at Brackley.
