Fry expecting little engine disparity

– Pat Fry, Ferrari's Director of Engineering, does not expect major performance differences between the powertrains that have been produced for the upcoming regulation overhaul. From 2014, turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 units will be introduced amid a range of aerodynamic and chassis changes, with Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault supplying the field of 11 teams. Although fears have been raised in recent months, Fry reckons the output of all three engines will be closely matched, with reliability the biggest potential stumbling block.
