Kubica wins personality gong

Robert Kubica's remarkable recovery from a near fatal accident continues with the former F1 driver receiving the FIA Personality of the Year award. The Pole and his supporters feared the worst for his racing future as he suffered a partially severed right hand as well as several other injuries in a high-speed rally crash a few season back. Although he has given up hope of returning to F1, he has made comeback to motorsport as he entered in the second tier of the World Rally Championship this year, winning it at the first attempt and there is talk that he could move up to the main series in 2014.
