Johnny Herbert Karting Challenge raises over 10,000 for charity

Mercedes F1 test and reserve driver Sam Bird was part of the winning 'halow flyers' team in the recent Johnny Herbert Karting Challenge 2013 that raised over £10,000 for charity.Bird's team also included Tom Hunt, son of 1976 F1 world champion, James Hunt, as well as Riki Christodolou, Tamsin Germain and Connor Mills, the latter setting a new lap record - of 66.890 seconds - just prior to the chequered flag.The event, which took place at UK's biggest and newest indoor karting venue, Capital Karts in Barking, raised funds for the halow project of which 1996 F1 world champion Damon Hill is a patron and Bird an ambassador.In total 19 teams took part with over 100 drivers battling it out in...
