Vettel brands double points idea 'absurd'

The announcement that the final race of the season will be worth double points in 2014 has been met with almost unanimous negativity amongst Formula 1 fans. It seems the drivers aren't so keen on the idea either with current champion Sebastian Vettel branding the idea "absurd". "This is absurd and punishes those who have worked hard for a whole season," he said. "I guess they do not understand old traditions in Formula 1." Had the systems been in place last year, Vettel would have lost out on the championship to Fernando Alonso. The German's new team-mate Daniel Ricciardo also questioned the idea. "Seems to be pretty bizarre," he wrote on Twitter....
