If you were waiting for a glorious Formula 1 Grand Prix with the New York skyline as the backdrop, you're going to have to wait at least another year. According to the Wall Street Journal, F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has called off the planned 2014 race in Weehawken New Jersey.
'We are not satisfied it's going to happen in time,' he said. 'What we're aiming for is 2015.'
Ecclestone said the race was called off 'for lots and lots and lots of reasons.' and WSJ did try to contact race promoter Leo Hindery Jr. for comment with no success. However, AUTOSPORT apparently got a call back and posted a story quoting Leo as saying:
