New Sauber passes crash test

Sauber has confirmed that its 2014 F1 car has passed the mandatory crash tests required by the FIA.The team revealed that it had passed its crash test in a brief statement, making it the first to publically confirm that its new car has completed the checks.“The chassis of the C33 has passed all static and dynamic tests of the FIA and is officially homologated,” the brief missive read. “The rear crash test, which is not part of the chassis homologation, will take place separately at a later date, as usual.”Sauber has yet to reveal when the C33 will be officially launched, with the car set to hit the track for the first time when pre-season testing gets underway in late January.
