Pirelli eases concerns over tyre failure

– Pirelli has moved to ease concerns over the high speed tyre failure that Nico Rosberg suffered on the final day of the manufacturer's private test at the Bahrain International Circuit. On Thursday morning, Rosberg tweeted that he suffered a tyre blowout at 320km/h (199 mph), an incident which forced his Mercedes team to end its programme early. But Pirelli has since released a statement, making clear that the German was using one of the many prototype tyres being trialled, and said it would not be used again.
