Ecclestone wants final three races to be worth double

Bernie Ecclestone says he wants the final three races of the season to be worth double points, not just the last race, but admits the plan could be dropped altogether. The 83-year-old believes it would keep the championship alive for longer and therefore ensuring television audiences remain interested until longer into the season. The proposal for three races to be worth double points was put to the F1 Strategy Group, but they voted in favour of just the final race. However with another meeting planned for January at the request of Luca di Montezemolo, the idea could be scrapped altogether.
