Toro Rosso were left disappointed with the 2013 season after missing out on their target of sixth place in the constructors’ championship. The Italian team retained their promising driver line-up of Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne, with both showing improvement and development over the course of the year. Red Bull Racing took notice and decided to promote the former for the 2014 season.
