Pirelli confirmed for three more years in F1

January 16th, 2014 (F1plus/R. Baillie).- Pirelli’s tyre contract has been renewed for three years and will see them be the sports sole tyre supplier starting until at least the end of the 2016 season. As well as engine changes F1 will see new regulations regarding tyre testing introduced in 2014. These include: one of the 12 days of pre-season testing being used to test wet tyres and each team will use one day of their eight days in-season testing to test tyres. Pirelli says the latter rule means that at each one of the in-season testing days at least one team, up to a maximum of two, will be testing tyres.
