Van der Garde: I could have stayed at Caterham

– Giedo van der Garde says he could have extended his contract with Caterham for another season, but felt that the opportunity to join Sauber as its designated test and reserve driver yielded a greater opportunity. The Dutchman, 28, was announced as a member of the Hinwil-based outfit's driver pool on Tuesday morning, with test outings and Friday practice appearances set to be provided throughout the upcoming campaign.
