Ecclestone reiterates double points idea

Bernie Ecclestone has reiterated his desire to see double points awarded for the final three races of the upcoming F1 season.Under controversial plans in place for 2014, double points will be handed out for the season finale in Abu Dhabi – a move that hasn't gone down well with fans, teams or drivers alike.Ecclestone himself had said he would prefer to see the final three rounds of the year run with double points on offer, with the BBC reporting that the commercial rights holder has now written to teams in an effort to extend the proposal to include the races in Austin and at Interlagos.Such a move would need unanimous backing from F1's competing teams, although it remains to be seen if...
