Ecclestone trial to start on April 24

– According to reports in the German media, Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone will face charges of bribery before the Munich District Court on April 24, with 26 days being set aside for the legal process. Ecclestone, 83, is facing allegations of bribery over a sizeable payment made to German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky, who was involved in the sale of Formula 1 to current owners CVC Capital Partners back in 2006. Gribkowsky is currently serving an eight and a half year jail sentence after being charged with bribery, breach of trust and tax evasion.
