Sainz will use 2014 to show Red Bull he is ready for F1 5 February, 2014 Rally legend Carlos Sainz listens to his son Carlos Sainz Junior during the 2013 Silverstone Young Driver F1 test Last year Carlos Sainz Junior was one of a few Red Bull drivers hotly tipped to replace Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso team for 2014, and although the Spaniard will not be in F1 this year he still believes there is a chance to progress to the top tier of the sport. Instead relatively unknown Russian teenager Dniil Kvyat got the nod to partner Jean Eric Vergne in the Toro Rosso team, while Sainz will replace F1 bound Kevin Magnussen in the DAMS Formula Renault 3.5 team.
