Ecclestone responds to NASCAR criticism

ormula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has hit back at the Chief Executive of the Texas Motor Speedway, Eddie Gossage, following complaints about the timing of this year's United States Grand Prix. The Formula 1 event, which is scheduled to take place at the Circuit of The Americas on the weekend of November 1-2, clashes with NASCAR's Texas 500 Sprint Cup, where all three national series will be in action. Gossage described Ecclestone's decision as "foolish" and said it was a "shot fired by Formula 1 at NASCAR", but the latter says the extensive travel involved in Formula 1 makes it difficult to accommodate all categories.
