Pérez learning more about VJM07

– Sergio Pérez expressed his pleasure after setting the fastest time on the opening day of the third pre-season test in Bahrain. Pérez's time of 1.35.290 was eight-tenths of a second faster than his nearest rival, Williams's Valtteri Bottas. Perez managed 105 laps and ensured that Mercedes-powered cars have topped all but one day of pre-season testing so far. "We really needed a good day to start this week and today we had it," said the Force India driver. "We managed to do a lot of laps, try several different compounds and mappings, and it's been a fantastic day in terms of learning about the car."
