The Bahrain organisers have renamed turn one at the Sakhir circuit in honour of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher. Schumacher, who remains in an induced coma, had a hand in designing the corner when the track was constructed in 2003. The German also won the very first race in 2004 and still holds the official lap record.
