Pirelli has announced the allocated tyre compounds for the first four races of the 2014 Formula 1 season.
The news was announced following the end of the third and final pre-season test at the Bahrain International Circuit. Teams were able to assess the new 2014 compounds during the four-day event.
The nominations were made to reflect the characteristics of each circuit and took into account all the data collected by the Italian firm from the three winter tests.
The third test showed an increased performance gap between the compounds as well as revealing that the tyres were in line with expectations and maintained a similar performance level to last year but with less degradation.
