– Bernie Ecclestone has said that Formula 1 could head to Azerbaijan for the first time in 2016. According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, the sport will race in the country courtesy of a deal facilitated by former Renault Team Principal Flavio Briatore, who has business interests in Azerbaijan. The race will take place on the streets of the country's capital, Baku. "We’re going to Azerbaijan," said Ecclestone. "The people out there [in Azerbaijan] are talking about holding a race in 2015.
