FIA set to change qualifying format

In an attempt to stop the final qualifying session from turning into a farce, the FIA are expected to make some adjustments to format for the 2014 season.... During last week's second pre-season test in Bahrain, the F1 Strategy Group was concerned that some drivers would sit out the Q3 sessions during the season in an attempt to save their tyres for the race. The tweaks to the qualifying format would allow the drivers to start the race on the tyres they used in Q2 instead of Q3. The 10 drivers that take part in Q3 will also be given an extra set of tyres that they may only use in the final session. Other changes that are expected to be made include the shortening of Q1 from 20 to 18...
