Mallya 'quietly confident' following winter tests

Force India team principal Vijay Mallya says he feels 'quietly confident' ahead of the 2014 Formula 1 season opener in Australia after an encouraging 12 days of winter testing. The VJM07 completed the second most laps of any team at the final four-day event in Bahrain, with Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg at the wheel, and managed 761 laps over the three tests. With a number of rivals struggling with reliability problems, Mallya feels the Silverstone-based outfit is in a good position. 'It was certainly a good week in terms of mileage because we completed the second highest number of laps of all the teams,' he said.
