Hamilton leads Rosberg in first practice

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time during first practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix, ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton was 0.231s quicker than Rosberg, with Fernando Alonso a couple of tenths further back in third place. Alonso was involved in a bizarre moment midway through the session when Ferrari released the Spaniard on one soft tyre and three medium compound tyres. His mechanics wheeled him back to the Ferrari garage and resolved their error. Nico Hulkenberg continued his fine form for Force India by setting the fourth quickest time.
