Paddock Postcard from Bahrain

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and musicians Nick Mason, Jools Holland and Mike Rutherford rubbed shoulders with the likes of Crown Prince Salman al Khalifa, Sir Jackie Stewart, Ratan Tata and former RAM F1 owner John Macdonald as the picturesque Sakhir paddock bustled with life throughout the 2014 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix meeting.Others present included racers Jean Alesi, Giancarlo Fisichella, steward Derek Warwick and Sebring 12 Hours winner Marino Franchitti, and Silverstone’s Neil England and Richard Phillips.On track, Saturday saw McLaren’s junior driver Stoffel Vandoorne emulate his performance on his World Series by Renault debut at Monza last year by...
