Marussia team now separate from car brand

– The Marussia Formula 1 team is no longer owned by Marussia Motors, after the sportscar brand's closure. Russian media previously reported that Marussia Motors, which took a majority stake in the outfit when it was known as Virgin Racing back in 2010, had shut down and that staff are to join a government-run technical institute. When contacted by GPUpdate.net on Wednesday, a Marussia team spokeswoman stressed that while the situation at Marussia Motors is unfortunate, it has no bearing on the Formula 1 operation moving forward.
