Mattiacci and Fernando have a lot of ground to make up As Fernando Alonso himself revealed during the Thursday press conference, he and former team principal Stefano Domenicali were more than just colleagues – they were friends who chose to spend time together away from the F1 circus. The Ferrari driver also let slip that he had yet to hear from Domenicali's replacement, sales and marketing superstar Marco Mattiacci, and was unsure whether or not his new boss would be making the journey to Shanghai.
