Remembering Roland Ratzenberger Twenty Years On

April 30th 1994, a date in Formula 1 history that is tinged with sadness, with heartbreak. The day before the legendary Ayrton Senna was to sadly pass away at Imola, another driver was to lose his life at the circuit in the most tragic way. Austrian Roland Ratzenberger was in his first season of F1, but he would not make it past the qualifying session for the San Marino Grand Prix, as a massive crash at the Villeneuve corner was to cruelly take the Simtek driver’s life.
