A selection of pictures capturing Ayrton Senna's time at the pinnacle of the sport from his debut in 1984 with Toleman through to that fateful afternoon on May 1st at Imola 20 years ago today... Senna makes his F1 debut in 1984 with Toleman, finishing second in Monaco – only his sixth F1 race – and third in Portugal, the season finale... Senna switches to Lotus the following year, appearing behind the wheel of the iconic John Player Special liveried 97T and 98T in 1985 and 1986... Senna continues with Lotus in 1987 – taking his sixth and final win with the team in Detroit... McLaren beckons in 1988... The partnership with Alain Prost soon turns bitter... although the McLaren-Honda...
