'Ayrton Senna will always be immortal' - Alonso

– Ayrton Senna will always be immortal, Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso has said during a memorial event at Imola. Alonso joined team-mate Kimi Räikkönen, Gerhard Berger, Jarno Trulli, Riccardo Patrese and a number of other drivers and fans at the circuit on Thursday to remember the Brazilian and Roland Ratzenberger – both of whom were killed over the San Marino Grand Prix weekend twenty years ago. The ceremony took place at Tamburello, scene of Senna's accident on May 1st, 1994. "Senna was an idol for me," Alonso told ANSA. "I was a young kid.
