Vergne penalised for lose wheel

Jean-Eric Vergne will start Sunday's Spanish GP ten places further back than he qualifies after losing a wheel in Friday's practice. The Toro Rosso driver headed back out onto the circuit late in FP2 to put in a final run only to find himself without a rear right wheel. Vergne was hit with a 10-place grid penalty while Toro Rosso were fined €30,000. "This is regarded as a serious offence and the stewards are of the opinion that this was a significant breach of the safety requirements," read the stewards report.
