Jenson Button has dismissed notions that he has any plan to retire from Formula One at the end of the year, following McLaren’s difficult start to the season. Button, now the oldest driver on the current grid at 34, endured a third straight race without a points finish at the Spanish Grand Prix, the first time this has occurred since he joined McLaren in 2010. With the 2009 champion’s contract at McLaren set to expire at the end of the year, questions have been asked over whether Button, now in his 15th season in Formula One, will continue racing on into 2015.
