Mercedes tests 'megaphone' exhaust in Spain

Mercedes has tested a modified 'megaphone' exhaust during the second day of the Barcelona in-season test. The sound of the new 1.6 litre V6 Turbo power-units has split opinion, with some fans and race promoters complaining about the decrease in volume. The FIA confirmed last month that it was working with teams to investigate possible solutions to amplify the noise of the engines. Mercedes announced on Thursday that it would be trialling the new exhaust at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya's two-day in-season test. It debuted on the W05, driven by Nico Rosberg, this morning.
