Mercedes: Our aim is to keep increasing any advantage
Mercedes AMG Petronas concluded the second in-season test of 2014 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya today, with Nico Rosberg taking the wheel of the F1 W05 Hybrid for the second of two days' running in Barcelona this week. Nico's best time of 1:25.805 from 102 laps put him second on the time sheets. Wednesday's programme began with a trial run of the ‘megaphone' exhaust tailpipe as requested by the FIA
The remainder of running time focused on aero, braking and control systems evaluation, in addition to practice starts
Pirelli's hard and medium compound dry tyres were used in the morning, the medium again in the afternoon
