Q3 lap my best of the year, claims Alonso
– Fernando Alonso believes he delivered his "best lap of the year" to claim fifth on the grid for the Monaco Grand Prix.With Mercedes and Red Bull locking out the front two rows of the grid, Alonso grabbed the next available slot, lapping seven tenths faster than team-mate Kimi Räikkönen.On another positive note for the Spaniard and Ferrari, his gap to pole position was 0.697 seconds, compared to 1.908 seconds in Barcelona."I think this was probably my best of the year," Alonso said of his fastest effort."In Q2 I started to get some pace, pushing a little bit harder, and then in Q3 I extracted the maximum.
