Fernando Alonso to start 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans

Fernando Alonso will be the guest starter of the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans next month, representing Ferrari's place in the history of the event. The Spaniard will drop the flag to send the drivers on their way from the grid at the Circuit de la Sarthe and start one of the most famous races in the world. On the drivers' parade ahead of yesterday's Monaco Grand Prix, Alonso listed the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500 alongside the race around the streets of Monte Carlo as being the best three in the world.
