Mercedes considered F1 withdrawal

Mercedes' Dieter Zetsche has confirmed that the German carmaker considered walking away from Formula One before the start of this season. Mercedes have been the powerhouse this season, dominating the Championship in emphatic style. Not only has the Brackley-based squad claimed all six grands prix wins but five of those were 1-2 finishes. However, this season almost didn't happen for the team.
