Mercedes engine boss insists Honda has 2015 advantage

Honda could well be at an advantage when it returns to Formula One as an engine supplier to McLaren in 2015, according to Mercedes engine boss Andy Cowell. While Cowell admits that the Japanese engine firm is somewhat hamstrung in the sense that it is yet to complete any actual testing with its 2015 power unit on-track, as current suppliers Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault rack up the mileage, he insists that the fact that Honda can continue to freely develop without the distraction of racing is a major bonus ahead of its debut. “There are pros and cons [for Honda],” Cowell explained to Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. “Ferrari, Renault and Mercedes have the experience of winter...
