Pirelli Announce Compound Choices for Next Four Rounds

Pirelli have announced the compounds of tyre that the eleven Formula One teams will have at their disposal for the next four rounds in Austria, Great Britain, Germany and Hungary. The Red Bull Ring is hosting the first Austrian Grand Prix since 2003, and Pirelli have decided due to the circuit requiring the maximum mechanical grip that the two softest tyres, the P Zero Yellow Soft and the P Zero Red Supersoft tyre will be used. The Championship then moves onto Silverstone, and Pirelli will be hoping that a repeat of the infamous 2013 race does not occur when the race was marred with a series of punctures, including for then race-leader Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes.
