Canadian GP announces new ten-year deal

The Canadian Grand Prix will remain in Montreal for another ten years after a new contract was announced on Saturday morning. This year's race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve was the last on the current contract, but race organisers held a press conference after FP3 to confirm that a new deal had been signed which will keep the race in Montreal until 2024. As part of the contract, the paddock and facilities will be upgraded at a cost of between C$25-40million. The Canadian Grand Prix has taken place in Montreal since 1978, with the grand prix not being held on two occasions – in 1987 and 2009. More to follow.
