Maldonado reprimanded after qualifying in Canada

Pastor Maldonado has been handed a reprimand by the stewards for failing to leave his steering wheel attached to his Lotus E22 after stopping in qualifying. The Venezuelan driver was forced to park his car at the turn three escape road towards the end of the first qualifying session. Maldonado was told to stop the Renault-powered E22 immediately due to a problem with the turbo. This meant he was unable to improve his time and was eliminated from Q1. He climbed out of the car but failed to re-attach his steering wheel – as required by the rules – and was later summoned to the stewards. They decided to give him a reprimand for the mistake, which is his first of the 2014 Formula 1...
