Ferrari rubbish Montezemolo's threat to quit F1

Ferrari have denied reports which suggested president Luca di Montezemolo had hinted that the Italian marque is set to quit Formula 1. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 66-year-old stated that "Formula 1 isn't working" and blamed a decline in the viewing numbers on the FIA which have "forgotten that people watch the racing for the excitement" not for the "efficiency". With rumours abound that Ferrari are working on an LMP1 endurance project, Di Montezemolo added: "Of course we cannot do sports-car racing and F1. It's not possible."
