Suspended fine for Toro Rosso

Toro Rosso has been hit with a suspended 10,000 euro fine for a tyre infringement during FP1 today.The Italian team was hit with the penalty after it was found that it used a set of prime tyres intended only for use during the opening thirty minutes of the opening session for more than the allowed time - albeit, by just thirty seconds.Nonetheless, the Stewards deemed the Faenza outfit, in allowing Jean-Eric Vergne to go beyond the allowed limit was found to have breached Article 25.4 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.The Italian team admitted the infringement and sought to mitigate.
