F1 2014 rookie Daniil Kvyat secured his best ever grid position today in qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix. Kvyat made it safely through both Q1 and Q2 and was then seventh fastest in the top-ten shootout on a 1m 09.619s. Speaking afterwards he said he could have been quicker too, but for the late yellow in Q3 when Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton spun at Turn 2. “This was my best qualifying result so far this season and I'm satisfied with the work the team has done all weekend.
