Alonso wants titles, not respect

As he faces yet another season without a World title, Fernando Alonso says he would rather have more titles and less respect. The double World Champ last tasted Championship success in 2006 when he won back-to-back titles with Renault. Moving to Ferrari in 2010 with the aim of adding more, Alonso instead found himself losing to Sebastian Vettel for four years running and now to Mercedes. And although many in the paddock rate him as the best driver on the grid, Alonso says he would rather have more titles than their respect. "It's been five years like this," said the 32-year-old. "There is always the satisfaction that everyone believes that you are performing at your best....
