Whiting says further noise solution begin tested

In initial tests that involved a megaphone-style exhaust after the Spanish Grand Prix, the effort to try and amplify the noise that we currently hear from the cars on the grid was a failed attempt. Mercedes were kind enough to help out, but yesterday, FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting explained that that was a study is currently being carried out on a new solution on a split exhaust, rather than just the one pipe coming out from the rear end of the air box. “What they’ve found is that by splitting the exhaust, you do get more noise.
