Esteban Gutierrez has, for the second race in succession, been slapped with a grid penalty for the next event. Racing against Pastor Maldonado in the 52-lap British Grand Prix, the Sauber driver crashed into the Lotus at Brooklands. Such was the angle of the impact that Gutierrez lifted Maldonado's car into the air. However, it was the Mexican racer who retired because of damage. A poor situation has now gone from bad to worse as he has been handed a three-place penalty for the next race in Germany.
