First look at Pirelli's 18-inch tyre design

9th July, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - Today we got a first look at the new Pirelli 18-inch tyre designs on the Lotus.  Charles Pic and Lotus are working with Pirelli to test the new designs at day two of the Silverstone test.  Pirelli announced the new tyre designs last Saturday during the British Grand Prix weekend explaining that it would make their work with Formula One cars more relevant to road tyres.  The Italian tyre manufacturer stressed that the new design was not something they were pushing for but they were trying to help teams make the best of the resources available.  “The 13-inch tyre is no longer relevant to the everyday road user, because even an...
