Hockenheim Practice 2: Hamilton tops as Mercedes own day one

Lewis Hamilton fastest in FP1 Lewis Hamilton topped the timing screens at the end of the first day of free practice of the German Grand Prix weekend at Hockenheim, ending the session fractionally faster than his teammate, and title rival, Nico Rosberg on a day which saw Mercedes continue to dominate despite the removal of the FRIC suspension system from their almighty W05. Hamilton and Rosberg set their best times on the red Band Pirelli super soft tyre, which seemed to have around 1.5 seconds more pace in them than the harder yellow band soft compound.
